Dean “Mack” McKenzie, RLA
Principal Landscape Architect and Project Manager
Dean “Mack” McKenzie, RLA, is the Principal Landscape Architect and founder of Distinguished Land Design, based in San Antonio, Texas. With over 30 years of experience across landscape architecture, construction, and public-sector project delivery, Mack brings a rare blend of design vision and real-world constructability to every project. He has led work for municipalities, institutions, and private clients throughout the U.S. and internationally, with expertise spanning parks, trails, streetscapes, public facilities, and large-scale planning.
Previously, Mack served as Job Order Contracting (JOC) Program Manager for the City of San Antonio, overseeing major capital programs, and held senior roles in both design firms and construction management. Known for his clarity, accountability, and hands-on leadership, Mack remains directly involved in every project to ensure high-quality, responsible, and buildable outcomes.
